"Complex TV"

This is a special E[D]M meeting, held
in preparation for the E[D]M Symposium
on Monday, May 28,

In order to familiarize ourselves with the
most recent writings of the E[D]M symposium's main
speaker, Professor Jason Mittell, we will read and discuss
pre-published texts from Mittell's forthcoming book Complex TV: The Poetics of Contemporary Television Storytelling.

Please Note: We ask that everyone attending the meeting read Mittell’s introduction (about 15 pages), but we also strongly recommend reading the first chapter, entitled "Complexity in Context" (about 25 pages).

Second, as always, we will take some time to discuss future events and projects that interests the EXPLORING THE [DIGITAL] MEDIUM working group. If you have any suggestions for events or material (fiction or non-fiction, texts, games, films, or video clips) that would be interesting, exciting, and enjoyable to read, watch, play, discuss or attend together as a group, please bring it along and present it at the meeting.
